Jo-Ann Sternberg, Founder & Artistic Director

In addition to her role as clarinet faculty, Jo-Ann Sternberg serves as artistic director of MCMS. Jo-Ann founded MCMS in 2012 and has grown the festival in every direction since then. While today she is supported in her administrative role by Adam and Rebecca, her artistic vision and commitment to sharing the beauty of chamber music with the next generation of musicians remains the driving force behind MCMS’s mission.

Adam DeSchriver,

Assistant Director

Adam DeSchriver is a PhD student at Yale University in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. He first came to MCMS as a participant in 2018 while studying clarinet at the Eastman School of Music. Despite having changed career paths since then, Adam maintains his connection to the music world through MCMS. He works with Jo-Ann and Rebecca throughout the year to make MCMS happen each June.

Rebecca McCartney, Program Assistant

NYC-based singer-songwriter Rebecca McCartney strategizes the MCMS social media channels, annual scholarship benefit, and manages the photo/audio/video needs during the festival. She spends her time outside of MCMS as a singer, touring with her band and recording original music. She has been with MCMS since its inception.
